<사랑은 변하지 않는 것 >

 

참된 정신이 맺어지는 데
방해물들의 존재를 허용하지 마라
그것을 만나 변하는 사랑이라면
그건 사랑이 아니다
그것을 치우려다 휘어지는 사랑이라도
그 역시 사랑이 아니다
오, 아니야!
사랑은 언제나 움직이지 않는 표식이라
폭풍에도 흔들리지 않고
길 잃은 모든 배를 위한 별이 되는 것이니
그 높이를 잴 수 있을지언정 그 가치는 알 수 없는 것
사랑은 시간에 놀아나는 어릿광대가 아니니
비록 장미빛 입술과 뺨이 시간의 휘어진 낫에 의해 시든다 해도,
사랑은 시간이 흘러도 변하지 않고
운명의 가장자리에 이르기까지 견디리라 

만약 이것이 잘못이라고 증명된다면,
나는 글을 써본 적이 없고,
사랑을 해본 이 또한 없을 것이다.
